"Pumpkins Iha Drops in On Parsons Tribute"
James Iha, whose solo album, last year's Let It Come Down, had a surprisingly '70s country flavor, turned up at last night's Sessions at West 54th taping of a tribute to one of the great '70s country stars, the late Gram Parsons. Iha sat in with alt-country rockers Whiskeytown (he'll be producing their new album) for a performance of Parson's "Song For You." The show, which will air later this fall, also featured artists from the recently released tribute album Return of the Grievous Angel, like Emmylou Harris, Chris Hillman, Steve Earle, Victoria Williams, Sheryl Crow, Jim Lauderdale and the Mavericks.
